Anne Sorensen

Tasmanian born Anne has always been interested in the arts, after completing courses in drawing and ceramics she discovered glass and developed a passion for expression in this medium.

Since 1992 Anne has been a full time glass artist, with a studio in Mount Hawthorn, at 224 Scarborough Beach Road.

Her busy practice has secured commissions in many private homes as well as public spaces.

Annes work can be seen at the Bayswater Swimming Pool, London Court, Trinity Arcade as well as in the restoration of the domes of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, to name a few.

Copper foiled Tiffany style lamps have been added to her repetoire.

The discovery of kiln formed glass is the most recent developement. This very distinctive work can be seen in leading galleries including Aspects in Kings Park, Form Gallery on Murray Street Perth, Gunyulgup Galley at Yallingup. she is also represented in Tasmania at The Tasmania Gallery and The Strickland Gallery in Hobart.

At the beginning of 2008 Anne moved her practice to a studio purpose built by her husband at her home.

Annes husband Barry has always done the installation of the leadlights, and often makes and repairs sashes and frames in his professionally equipped wood working shop.

In many cases where old houses have been modernised with aluminium sliders, Barry has been able to restore the original look with new timber sashes.

Anne and Barry are unique in that they are a one stop shop for leadlights.
